Energy Healing Careers Today
Posted by on Aug 5, 2010
Find Energy Healing Careers in the United States and Canada. Today, prospective students can now choose from a diverse field of alternative healing education, including training to attain one of several energy healing careers.
Energy healing careers encompass a broad spectrum of healing arts’ professions, including touch therapy, energy healing, polarity therapy, Qigong, Reiki, chakra balancing, aura clearing, meridian therapy, emotional release technique and a variety of others.
One of the more popular energy healing careers involves therapeutic touch (TT). This is a non-contact technique that has gained a lot of popularity in mainstream medicine. In particular, nurses and holistic health practitioners alike have integrated this method into their practice. A matter of fact, prospective students searching for energy healing careers will find that even the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center has begun using energy medicine in their nursing care regimen.
Energy healing careers are often incorporated into broad holistic practices of natural healing. For example, some energy healing careers in Reiki can be quite rewarding – both financially and personally. Depending on experience and training, these energy healing careers can earn practitioners about $50 per client session.
The positive aspect of energy healing careers is that almost any energy medicine can be administered to both people and animals alike. Persons that have entered energy healing careers are commonly referred to by their “healing hands.” Case in point, energy healers are often said to be able to improve health of others through “aura healing,” “chakra healing,” “energy healing,” “laying of hands” and other terms.
Practitioners in energy healing careers draw upon vital energy to remove energy blocks. This is believed to restore balance and harmony back into the physical body to bring about self-healing capabilities. Other energy healing careers include professions in Quantum touch, color therapy, visualization, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), kinesiology and magnetic therapy. Subsequently, many massage therapists and holistic health practitioners, such as iridologists, rely on kinesiology to determine open and blocked energy fields.
As a unique opportunity to learn something innovative and quite compelling, energy healing careers do require a fair amount of practical training to completely understand and facilitate its various healing methods. In many cases, energy healing careers encompass an assortment of educational levels, much like that of conventional professions. In addition, most energy healing careers are coupled with academic achievements; including certification and diplomas of completion.
If you (or someone you know) are interested in attaining one of several energy healing careers, let career training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore career school programs near you.

What is Energy Healing?
Posted by on Jul 21, 2010
You have probably come across exotic-sounding terms such as chakra, prana, aura, and tantra in your course of reading books on spirituality, sex, and healing in the New Age literature section of the bookstore. But what’s the real scoop behind these exotic vocabularies?
Are All Energy Healings the Same?
Chakra or energy center is a term used in Pranic healing, an ancient Hindu system of energy healing. Prana means life energy.Aura is another terminology traced to Pranic healing. Aura is a non-physical body that consists of energy, which exists along with our physical body. The aura that covers our body is said to have seven layers pertaining to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of an individual as manifested by energy. Studying the color and thickness of auras give ideas on the state of health of individuals. Six colors are associated with aura and interpreted into six personalities. These colors are all present in an individual but one or two are more pronounced.
Green – ambitious achiever
Blue – spiritual peacemaker
White – unconventional chameleon
Red – activist
Orange – creative communicator
Violet – psychic
Although Tantra is popularly associated with the peculiar practice of sex and spirituality, it is another method of energy healing. It comes from the word tan which means to spread or expand. The concept of connectedness is a recurring theme in Tantric writings on sex and spirituality. As a method of healing, spirituality and sex figure prominently. It is presupposed that the union of man and woman can reach spiritual levels during orgasm, which removes the body and mind off collected impurities. These impurities being negative energies can in turn manifest as physical illnesses.
Unlike Pranic and Tantric healings, which have Hindu origins, Reiki originated from Japan. It is relatively younger than Pranic and Tantric healings having been rediscovered in the early 1900’s. Reiki stands for universal energy, an energy brought forth by higher intelligence. Students of Reiki are taught how to tap this energy to heal physical, emotional, and mental illnesses.
Although Pranic, Tantra, and Reiki are all systems of energy healing, they differ in the type of energy tapped for healing: life energy, sexual energy, and universal energy respectively.
The concepts of the connectedness of mind, body, and spirit; the connection of individuals to all living and nonliving things around them and to the universe; and how energy impacts physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being are some of the salient similarities of these three healing methods.
Why Do People Turn to Energy Healing?
Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki are considered alternative methods of healing. In spite of the availability and relative accessibility of modern medicine, how come more and more people are being drawned to them? Here are some possible reasons:
Energy healing worked where modern medicine failed.
For several reasons both explainable and unexplainable, modern medical treatment failed to heal ailments and conditions in several if not many persons. Research or data may not be able to support this statement. But for the families of the dying as well as for the dying patient, they would take the risk of using alternative methods ranging from herbals and organics, faith healers, witch doctors, and New Age healing techniques just to be get well.
People perceive modern medicine to be isolating.
Medical treatments are oftentimes focused on the disease and its causative agent, which can make a patient feel isolated and treated like a mere host of the disease. Although recent developments in hospital practice are gradually promoting the holistic treatment of a patient, the perception still persists. Unlike in energy healing, since energy and spirituality are intimately linked, the patient feels that all aspects of his health are being attended to.
Energy healing is non-obtrusive and natural thus it is safer.
Repeated surgical procedures are physically and emotionally traumatic for most patients. It is but a logical and attractive option to both patient and families to look for less stressful health interventions. Moreover, with the rising popularity of New Age religions, going natural is the way to go.
Energy healing is a good way of relieving stress.
Meditation is part and parcel of energy healing methods and this is an added come-on for highly stressed people. Moreover, sophisticated equipment is not required thus it becomes all the more convenient for students and future students of energy healing.
The battle between alternative healing and mainstream medicine continues as both present the benefits of their approach. But in the final analysis, what matters is the restoration of good health.

What Is Integrated Energy Balancing Healing Psychotherapy?
Posted by on Jul 16, 2010
According to research, the most important factor in positive client outcome is a good and trusted therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. Thus, my number one priority in being a vehicle for healing is to be a trusted guide in my clients’ own process. I allow clients the freedom and flexibility to explore different change options, and help them find the answers to their problems and issues inside of themselves. I am a proficient and skilled Reiki Master, Transformational Breath Facilitator, Certified Advanced Clinical Heart Centered Hypnotherapist, Certified Release Therapist, Certified Level I Aromatherapist, Certified Advanced Master Shapeshifter, and know how important and potent integrated energy healing psychotherapy work is. As a result, spirit guided me in creating an extremely powerful yet gentle healing system combining Eastern and Western healing modalities. I call this Integrated Energy Balancing Healing Psychotherapy Including Heart Centered Hypnotherapy and Holistic Integrative Breathing. Essentially I combine, when appropriate, Reiki, Prana healing, the Orion Healing Technique, aromatherapy, the chi machine, positive belief statements, Holistic Integrative Breathing, Heart Centered Hypnotherapy, body centered mindfulness psychotherapy, Taoism, A Course in Miracles, Shamanic Journeying, Soul Retrieval, and Shapeshifting Consciousness. In addition, Heart Centered Hypnotherapy has proven to be very effective at regressing clients back to original childhood wounds and releasing the energy necessary to grieve, heal, and reprogram new healthy beliefs about themselves. I have found the integration of alternative and traditional healing methods in conjunction with a combination of Jungian, Rogerian, Gestalt, and Imago psychotherapy to be a more complete holistic approach. I have taken countless professional and spiritual workshops at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies (largest holistic education center in the country). I have studied and researched successful traditional and non-traditional alternative approaches to the human change process and addictive behaviors through my doctoral education at Temple University. Holistic Integrative Breathing is both an integral part of individual Integrated Energy Balancing Healing Psychotherapy, and is taught separately by myself in workshops and groups. You can experience: extra energy, increased mental clarity, a greater ability to solve problems, an efficient and healthier life, more, love, joy, forgiveness, compassion, and freedom, less stress, a creativity boost and expressing your truth, more balance, greater intuition, and a deeper connection with your spirituality. The purpose of the breathing is not to bring up past trauma, buy to heal, balance, and clear. Ideally, when our bottom three energy centers are clear and balanced and our top three energy centers are clear and balanced, we live in joy from the heart through unconditional love. You can truly integrate alternative healing methods with the traditional and create your own personalized holistic practice to empower and heal yourself! Many times I begin an integrated individual session with Aromatherapy. Wisdom Of The Earth medicinal grade essential single oils are applied as dictated by individual needs. Research has shown the positive benefits of holistic healing with high frequency grade essential oils. An example of oils I use frequently are: feet-vetiver, 1st chakra-peppermint, 2nd chakra-laurel leaf, 3rd chakra-eucalyptus, 4th chakra-goldenrod, 5th chakra-blue spruce, 6th chakra-frankincense, and 7th chakra-white spruce. This helps open their chakras and facilitate healing. They then lay down and put their ankles in the chi machine for ten minutes. This moves their legs back and forth, which oxygenates the blood, opens up the root energy center (or chakra) in the sacrum at the base of the spine, and pulls energy up through the body. It is important to bring the energy up the back of the body through the energy centers (chakras) to the top of the head and then back down the front of the body through the chakras to the earth again. This helps clear and balance the energy field and alleviates prior build up in any one area, which can cause sickness, disease, and emotional issues to manifest. The client is then coached on the massage table about how to breathe to specific calibrated music. There are different breaths each of which concentrates on different energy systems in the body. While the client is breathing I clear, balance, and facilitate healing in their energy body using a combination of Reiki, Prana healing, affirmations, and the Orion Healing Technique so as to keep the energy flowing evenly throughout the body. During the 30-60 minutes of breathing clients are usually in a theta brainwave state. This is a very deep and suggestible state where we can bypass the ego, facilitate healing, and reprogram on the ethereal and cellular levels. I take advantage of this state by giving positive affirmations as I work on the energy centers in the body. These affirmations are holistic including the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual realms. An example of heart breath affirmations would be, I unconditionally love myself and others, I am forgiving of myself and others, and I am compassionate with myself and others. Experience the empowerment of taking personal responsibility to heal yourself! Let go of control and fear and feel the presence of unconditional love with Integrated Energy Balancing Healing Psychotherapy and Heart Centered Hypnotherapy!

Three Forms Of Energy Healing: Pranic, Tantric, And Reiki
Posted by on Jul 9, 2010
You have certainly seen them while scoping out the New Age section of your local bookstore. Prana. Aura. Chakra. Tantra. What do all of these words mean? What’s the story here? Obviously there must be something to it, with all of these books dedicated to the topic.
Are All Energy Healings the Same?
Prana is a Hindu method of energy healing, and dates back to antiquity. Chakra is a term often seen in regard to Pranic healing, as is the word aura. The aura is a a sort of non-physical companion to the physical body, having seven layers, or chakras. These layers relate to the emotional, spiritual, mental and physical well being of a person as measured in energy. The color and depth of these auras give the healer a clue to the health of the person they are studying. There are six basic color variations in these auras, and are considered to be tied to six personality types. All six colors will be present in all persons, but one or two colors will be prominent in any given individual. These colors are:
Green – ambitious achiever
Blue – spiritual peacemaker
White – unconventional chameleon
Red – activist
Orange – creative communicator
Violet – psychic
Tantra is most commonly associated with the combination of spiritual and sexual techniques, it is also a type of energy healing. From the word tan (to spread, expand), tantra is related to the idea of connectedness. This connectedness is a common theme in writings on tantra. This spiritual/sexual connection is used as a way of energy healing. Tantric practitioners hold that during orgasm, the union of man and woman takes on a spiritual aspect which can cast negative energies and impurities from the bodies of the practitioners. These negative energies if left untouched can cause illnesses.
Reiki has a different origin than that of Prana and Tantra (whose roots of course lie in the Hindu religion). Reiki hails from Japan, and is much newer than the other two forms of energy healing. Reiki means “universal energy”, e.g. and energy emanating form some higher intelligence. Reiki practitioners use this source energy to heal illnesses of the emotions, the mind and the body.
All three systems of energy healing discussed here are similar in their aims, but differ in the source of the energy drawn upon for healing. Prana uses life energy, Tantra sexual energy and Reiki universal energy.
All three also share another similarity: the belief in the interconnectedness of people with their surroundings and with other living (and even non-living) things in the environment, as well as the effect of energy on the well being of individuals.
Why Do People Turn to Energy Healing?
Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki are all considered to be alternative forms of healing. More and more are drawn to energy healing, despite the continual advances made my conventional western medicine. Why is this? Here are some possibilities:
- Energy healing worked where modern medicine failed.
Modern medicine has at times just out and out failed to heal some illnesses. There are reasons for this, some explainable by science, some not. Many will take a chance on alternative treatments as a last resort when conventional medicine has failed. Sometimes, these techniques effect a cure where other methods could not. Whether or not the research bears it out statistically, alternative and traditional healing has saved the lives of some patients.
- People perceive modern medicine to be isolating.
Western medicine is not by nature holistic. Focusing strictly on the disease and it’s cause, rather than the overall health of the patient which provided the disease a place to settle, the patient can be left feeling like they are merely a petri dish where physicians do battle with their disease. While conventional medicine is starting to move in the direction of holistic treatments, the shift is happening gradually. With energy healing, health, spirituality and energy are seen as all part of one thing; this means the patient feels like they are being cared for as a person rather as a symptom.
- Energy healing is non-obtrusive and natural thus it is safer.
Surgery can be traumatic and dangerous for patients, especially if surgical interventions must occur repeatedly. this makes energy healing attractive to many patients. Non-invasive and natural, it is certainly a safe option for treatment, and one rapidly growing in popularity.
- Energy healing is a good way of relieving stress.
An added benefit of energy healing for the stressed individual is its emphasis on meditation. After stress can cause and exacerbate some health conditions. Also, energy healing is an attractive field for students to get into as it doesn’t require practitioners to have tons of sophisticated and expensive equipment.
Traditional medicine and alternative healing methods will continue to fight it out in the arena of public opinion for many years to come. Both have their benefits and their place. What matters in the end however, is the restoration and maintenance of health.

Healing from Alternative Energy
Posted by on Jun 29, 2010
The principle of alternative energy healing is to use the body’s own energy or “qi” towards good health.
This practice began in the Far East and is still used as a traditional medical treatment there.
But now westerners are realizing the value of alternative energy healing for their aches and pains.
Alternative energy healing uses the principles of balance and harmony to heal.
Practitioners believe that if the body is out of balance, illness will result.
Using various techniques of physical contact combined with the psychological, they attempt to balance the flow of the body’s energy.
There are a number of different kinds of alternative energy healing.
Some of the better known ones are:
Accupuncture. Needles are lightly imbedded into the pressure points of the body, of which there are many, to produce healing.
How do they locate all of the pressure points of the body?
A practitioner has to learn the main pressure points on the body and then can find four more for each one by moving three inches to the north, east, south and west.
Novices should never attempt to practice accupuncture, even if they do know the proper pressure points.
It takes years to properly master the technique of accupuncture and if done improperly by an untrained person, the result could be fatal.
Qigong. Through physical manipulation, the practitioner directs the flow of “qi” through the patient’s body.
Special exercises and movements are used to open up channels into the patient’s energy.
The practitioner then directs the energy from his body into the patient’s body. As a result, balance and harmony are restored to the patient.
T’ai Chi Chuan. If you watch T’ai Chi Chuan in action, you may think it is a form of martial art. It is also a form of alternative energy healing.
In the same way that Qigong does, it uses exercises and body movements to bring about balance. This energy flows from the environment.
The effectiveness of this type of alternative healing has been demonstrated by the aged of the Wudan mountain region of China. In only one example, a 100 year old nun turned her grey hair black through the use of daily T’ai Chi Chuan.
This is an amazing feat.
Some believe that alternative healing such as this may be the secret of immortality.
If we could only get up each morning and practice T’ai Chi Chuan, we would always be able to move.
Biofeedback. This kind of alternative healing uses the power of the mind to promote healing.
People who practice this believe that the mind is the determining factor in illness and many diseases come from psychological causes.
Using “mantras”, the proper psychological level is achieved to rid the body of negative energies.
Many people swear by this type of alternative healing.
People who are very adept at this are even able to control the involuntary functions of the body such as their heartbeat.
It seems difficult to believe, but it is true.
Esoteric. This is an alternative energy healing principle that uses rituals to have outside energies bring balance to the body.
Practitioners believe that certain rituals, along with the proper attitude of the patient, can bring these forces and correct any negative energies.
There are books that practioners refer to that give the secrets of these rituals.
They are kept secret and their power is supposedly increased if they are written by hand. This is the way the secrets are kept to the select few who practice this craft. There are many more of these types of alternative energy healing, and modern science is just starting to see how they can be applied.
Many of these practices work very well to promote healing.
