I agree. It’s both dangerous and overtaxing to people. It can also be more burdensome. What if someone does not “manifest” those he/she thinks of? In the back of the mind, it’s possible that person would feel like someone’s manifestation of that someone’s thoughts. There must be God to solve this imbalance.

I had felt uneasy with the Secret as well. Though the authors readily admit this law of attraction is not their creation, something in the presentation is missing. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but the dangling golden carrots were very present, which seemed oddly impure as a spiritual practice. Yes, I so agree with all of what you say here. Above all else: LOVE.

Sorry Zaboka99 I accidently gave you a thumbs down. But I agree with you that Moshe is very well spoken on this point. I just watched the movie for the first time this week. I guess I wasn’t spiritually ready to see this movie until now or I would have come across it by now. This critique has been up here for a year now and I’m just now getting to it. Sheesh talk about slow on the uptake.

We may not have been completely responsible for creating ourselves, but the very fact that we could’ve been created better means that there is a ‘more aware’ creator than the one that created us. And the awareness stretches all the way to infinity. But the basic spirit remains the same – ‘to be better’ and the basic law of creation remains the same. As we gain in more awareness that law would deepen as well. And we would have a higher vantage point to create from. Hope this makes sense. Peace
Hi Moshe, Nice video. But the distinction you are trying to draw, is the difference between micro- and macro-universe. The essential spirit of how things are created remains the same at every level – every level of awareness, morality.
The Secret does help to switch the person who is stuck in the matrix/victim/powerless into someone with ability to take responsibility for their own life. That’s good. BUT!! it fronts itself, that is, the law of attraction, as God! The secret even goes on to say “The law of attraction is, was, and shall always be” which is the very phrase that represents the Eternal truth of our Creator. They are replacing God with the Law of Attraction, which is only a manifestation of God, not God Him/Herself.

something started to bother me about “the secret” too. It doesn’t bring people any closer to spirituality, enlightenment and the divine. “The secret” mainly feeds into the ego of people who want to be spiritual and have it all too. To people who envy successful people and think that their liberation will come through the fulfillment of desires based in manifestations in the outer versus understanding that true bliss is within.
