Is natural healing a form of witchcraft?

Posted by admin on Jun 30, 2009

I have heard this mentioned in some groups and it is disregarded as an option because of this. I am interested in becomming a healer and wondered if there is still stigma attached to it. It obviously wont make any difference to me, I am just wondering

Healing belongs to ALL religions and NO religion. A religion without healing I feel to be an incomplete one.

It is a part of witchcraft for it is energy work. it is through witchcraft that you can get an understanding and excel in the healing field.

For instance reiki belongs to evreyone, but it is through it’s teachigns and the of witchcraft that I have come to learn mroe on it.

I consider it a part of it because it is connected with each other. Not may other religions help in explaining this.

But at the end of the day healing does not just belong to witchcraft and is a universal practice.

Blessings,
Shadow

Personally, I don’t think so. Witchcraft uses elemental properties (fire, water, air, earth) and natural healing uses a lot of energy, the body’s chakras, and aura. Not that witchcraft doesn’t use energy in its practice, but natural healing isn’t so based on the 4 elements, it’s more based on chakras.

While Witchs do have a lot of knowledge in the area of healing.. I think of it more in the realm of Shamanism. I don’t think of healing as craft work much.

You will have many say yes and no, but I believe that certain people do have the ability to take pain away.
Many in my family have a gift of some sort!
After all you have got something to offer and helping others is well rewarding to the mind body and soul!
More people are returning to nature and this kind of alternative medicine!

Go spread your wings ; ) x

Being a healer is a wonderful thing~ be sure to practice ways of protecting yourself from bad energy that can sap you of yours. And don’t worry, people wont think your a witch doctor and if some do, you wont be hanged.
The stigma attached to natural healing stems from the old wise woman of the village that instinctively knew what herbs and potions and salves to make when someone fell ill. Their knowledge scared the church officials and they were deemed witches, in reality they were indeed natural practitioners.

No. A lot of the history of "witches" is based on natural healing and midwifery. Back in the days of the Puritans the accusations made against people like this originated in a male-dominated society. ‘Traditionally, women who were strong and independent were considered witches. It’s based on ignorance and fear, and nothing more.

The stigma has lost something over time, so now people are looking more toward natural forms of healing. The pharmaceutical companies have way too much power, and work very closely with the physicians of this country. It’s become a game of politics. People are so used to taking a prescription for everything when what we ought to do is to assume some responsibility for our own health. We only have this one body and a lot of ailments can be prevented if we would just pay attention to our own bodies…don’t you agree? lol

Sorry, didn’t mean to go on and on…:-)

it IS a form of witchcraft, both takes energies and gypsywoman said it all about the old woman…really that did happen in salem witch hunt trails. they found a woman guilty of witchcraft all because of healing someone with herbs or through crystals.

today sure has not changed much since then, people are still racists towards witchcraft/Wicca…i mean really, we have enough hate in this world…why add more hate ontop of hate?

just making my point :P

don’t forget, men can be witchs as well!

Blessed be )o(

Witchcraft healing is awesome. I have a friend who paid $500 to a witch to do a ceremony about his hemorrhoids. On the third attempt all at once his bleeding hemorrhoids just sucked right back in his *ss and stayed in there. It was awesome.

If you mean REIKI it is not withcraft as you call upon the energy of the universe to aid you with your healing – no gods and goddesses are being called, no spells and no rituals. It only ask for your attunement to the universe and the knowledge of healing using those energies

I would say that natural healing is part of witchcraft, but not exclusively so. You don’t have to be a witch to be a healer. You don’t have to be a healer to be a witch.
