I have been interested in herbs and herbal gardens for years. Many books explain the uses for plants, but fewer have fantastic garden patterns and detailed instructions for growing herbs. Medicinal plants are a good thing to use, I grew up with them. I just was not quite sure how to go about choosing plants, planting, etc. I am not a gardener. It is perfect for those of us who know the grass (if it does not give you many interesting recipes and details of the use, as well), but you want the practical details as well.

I bought this book for my mother for Christmas this year. Of course, I had to take a peak. I was really impressed. Each garden is a specific “bad” or “help”. Then, each garden is presented in two versions: standard and container. Then, in the same chapter, the recipes are offered to use herbs. I only had a brief look at the book, but from what I saw, I told him I was going to order my own so I did not have to share. She said she would start her herb garden this summer. Can not wait to see how they come out or get my own book to fully explore.

I love this book! It offers different types of herbs to grow for a variety of ailments, how to grow, how to set up the garden to make it attractive, what to expect with the different types of herbs, how to preserve them , recipes for using them, etc. If you are looking to grow your own natural pharmacy, this book will show you how from beginning to end. Highly recommended!
