I’ve been hearing a lot of theories of who created Kung Fu or Wushu. Huang Di because with his great knowledge of medicine it has said to be beneficial for the human health ex: Tai Chi. Bodhidharma because he traveled from India to China and distributed the art to the Shaolin monks.
Neither
It was ug who steped out of the cave and beat oog, oog then went to train up in the mountain with the old wiseman and came back to defeat ug.

Get Successful Breast Cancer Treatment By Including Complementary And Alternative Therapies
Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009
Chemotherapy along with surgery is traditionally the most common form of treatment for breast cancer. However, recently, holistic treatments have become more popular. The reasons for this are many, but the usually, it is because the patient doesn’t want to endure chemotherapy or surgery, or feels there is a better way to combat the disease.
The Problem Of Traditional Breast Cancer Treatment
Modern medicine claims that if the cancer is caught early enough, breast cancer treatments like radiotherapy or chemotherapy can help the patient lead a long and active life. However, it has been proven that if chemotherapy is used too soon, it may actually shorten the life of the patient.
Another risk of modern medicine is using mammograms as an early diagnostic tool, rather than preventative. Mammograms will sometimes give false positives and leave some women enduring treatments, only to find out later they may never have had cancer at all.
When mistakes happen with traditional breast cancer treatments, harmful side effects may shorten, rather than prolong a patient’s life.
Getting Help By Alternate Therapies
Serious heath problems such as breast cancer are being treated more frequently by holistic medicine. Holistic therapies go beyond the traditional remedies that only treat mainly the body. Holistic medicine also treats the mind and spirit as well. It is important to note that, even though you may experience fewer side effects with holistic medicine, you don’t choose to forgo traditional medicine, but add holistic practices to it.
Also, it is important to remember that just as there are side effects of chemotherapies and other types of medical treatments, there are side effects to using holistic breast cancer treatments as well. However, there have been many studies done that show patience frequently live longer than what doctors had estimated they would.
Women fighting breast cancer may seek out holistic therapists to detoxify her body. The therapist would use naturopathy to detect certain toxins in the body. After this, kinesiology is employed to check the body’s energy fields. After checking these two items, the therapist can put together a course of treatment that will revolve around natural remedies.
There are many types of detoxifying programs that may be used during breast cancer treatment. One is to cleanse the liver and involves black walnut, wormwood and cloves. There are also detoxifying programs for the mind to help patience achieve a better emotional state.
Holistic therapies help by ridding the body of deep-rooted toxins; also by treating your mind so you can better fight the disease of breast cancer. When a patient is first diagnosed with cancer, it can lead to fatigue and stress within the body and mind. Once you can focus on the treatment, your chances of beating cancer increase. It is important to keep mind body and spirit in good health.
Seeking breast cancer treatment from a holistic therapist is perfectly all right as long as you don’t forgo traditional breast cancer medicine. While holistic treatments may take away some of the symptoms traditional medicine have, it should not be a substitute for medical advice. Keeping your mind calm will help in receiving treatments.
Summary:
Holistic therapist shouldn’t be used in place of medical breast cancer treatment, but it can help treat your emotional needs that will make your overall state of being as well as helping with the side effects such as vomiting and nausea. Sometimes, holistic treatments will prolong a patience life, some times by years.

Natural Remedy For Hives
Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009
You may be one of those who are prone to getting hives on a regular basis. If so, you may wish to consider using a natural remedy for hives. Hives are normally caused by an allergic reaction to drugs or food. Your body releases chemicals that make your skin swell up in hives.
The appearance of hives is tiny red nasty bumps on your skin. After some time, hives usually go away on their own. However, your condition may become severe, especially if your immune system is low.
At this stage, most people turn to commercially available preparations, prescription medications or even allergy shots. These drug medications usually contain antihistamines and cortisone, ingredients that make them effective in controlling hives.
However, they should not be used for a long period of time as they usually result in many side effects. The alternative to conventional drug medications is to use a natural remedy to alleviate the inflammation and itch that comes with the hives.
Naturopathic doctors would recommend that what you should do first is figure out the cause of your hives even before you even begin to treat the condition. That way, you can eliminate your exposure to the allergen. For treatment, you can consider any of the following natural remedy for hives:
1. Quercetin is a plant pigment that is found in leafy green vegetables, onions, apples, and other natural foods. Quercetin acts as a natural antihistamine, which can help reduce or even completely eliminate hives in many people. Herbalists recommend taking 500 milligrams of this natural remedy for hives twice a day.
2. Sandalwood essential oil is especially used in Native American medicine wherein it is believed that hives are a fiery condition. This essential oil is well known for its calming and cooling effects. As such, many herbalists refer to Sandalwood as a sedative for the skin.
Simply add several drops of this essential oil to a cotton ball and then apply it to the infected area every three hours.
3. Mint is well known as a natural remedy with cooling effects. Mint oil can be also used to soothe the irritating symptoms of hives.
For a home remedy, you can create mint ice cubes and place them directly onto your inflamed skin. Seep 2 teaspoons of freshly crushed mint leaves in boiling water for about 5 minutes. Next, strain this tea and pour it into an ice cube tray and place it in your freezer. Apply the ice cubes that are formed onto your inflamed and irritated skin. If you have any remaining mint ice cubes, simply save them in a labeled plastic freezer bag for future use.

Get Rid Of Acne Now The Natural Way
Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009
Living with acne can be very difficult, and even more difficult to find just the right acne treatment for you. There is hope — keep researching, learning and testing and you’ll find the right treatment for you. Keeping your skin clear doesn’t have to be a trying experience with so many cheaper natural treatments available today.
Acne is one of most common skin conditions in the world, affecting more than 40 million people. Acne is the most common skin disease. There are several different types of acne. The most common types of pimples are whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts.
Check your shampoo to make sure it isn’t causing pimples or other breakouts on your forehead. New studies show that during times of high emotional stress, such as during exam time in high school, there are more acne breakouts; are stress hormones the culprits? Scientists are trying to find the cause of acne and working on ways to prevent plugs.
Make sure to stay out of the sun if you’re taking any acne medications. There are many natural acne home remedies; you may have to try several to find one that works best for your skin type. One helpful remedy seems to be to use ice to reduce the swelling caused by inflamed pimples: rub it over the blemishes for 2-3 minutes.
Any makeup you use should list on the label non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic. Use exercise such as Yoga and Tai Chi to improve blood flow to the skin and support the healing process; it also boosts the condition of your internal organs which allows them to eliminate toxins more effectively. Treatment with raw apple cider vinegar will work better on your skin if it isn’t already noticeably irritated from acne medicines, acne products or other failed treatment.
Make sure not to use hot water on your face, always use lukewarm water. Use baking soda on a test area carefully for exfoliation, if you feel you need it. Try a diligent application of coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime to see the healing benefits.
Some natural home remedies include dabbing on non-gel toothpaste or lemon juice to dry out zits. Drinking lots of pure, filtered water may be one of the most important things you can do for your acne, working from the inside out. This is a little messy but you can try making a paste by mixing three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon together and applying the paste on your pimples at bedtime for two weeks, and wash it off each morning; honey has anti-bacterial action – a cheap, natural home remedy.
It bears repeating, you want to be good to your skin and never pop or squeeze a pimple no matter how tempting. It’s easy to treat acne cheaply, simply, naturally, yet effectively, at home.
Whether you eat a natural diet of living fruits and vegetables or eat dead junk food, what you eat may have a direct or indirect affect on the male hormones which may or may not play some part in acne. Besides external acne treatment it’s even more important to work from the inside out too. Adding a lot of fresh, raw fruit to the diet has helped many people clear their skin up; there are tons of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in fruits.
Essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne. Drink lots and lots of pure, filtered water every day.
For an easy fiber boost, mix in two tablespoons of ground up flaxseeds into raw applesauce, from two to three apples, made in your food processor. Eat foods that contain essential fatty acids. Eat at least two organic apples a day while working to clear up your skin; apples are good for skin health – organic so you can eat pesticide-free skin (most of the apple pectin is in the skin), which helps with constipation.
The two most common digestive concerns that affect your skin are not enough water and not enough fiber. Get plenty of sunshine on your arms and legs; sunshine triggers the production of Vitamin D3 which is essential to having healthy skin.
Don’t give up – try everything you can until you get relief from your acne. Analyze all the acne treatments available and make the best decision for you, based on your circumstances. Fortunately, many people have discovered through trial and error how to cure their acne.

The Many Benefits Of Natural Herbal Remedies
Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009
You may have heard that you can use natural herbal remedies to cure ailments but have no idea where to start. After all, there are thousands of herbs available; not to mention herbs from the east such as Chinese medicinal herbs and Ayurvedic herbs. It would appear to be an impossible task to know them all. Well, do make a start! Hopefully, in time, you can grow to know about the basic principles of using herbs for health in your daily life.
For a start, the first thing to know is to understand what natural herbal remedies are and how they work. Usually this term refers to the use of medicinal plants to aid in healing and in creating more health and wellness. Although herbal therapy is one of the oldest methods of healing, it is often referred to as alternative or complementary medicine today. The reason is that any form of healing, other than using synthetic drug therapy and surgery, is considered alternative.
Natural herbal remedies possess beneficial chemical properties. For instance, a lot of plants contain saponins, which are well known for helping in the bowel elimination process as well as for helping to break down excess mucus. A lot of plants also contain tannins, which are chemical compounds that can help to slow down bleeding. In addition, many of the compounds derived here are being added to commercially manufactured pharmaceutical drugs today.
The easiest way to derive benefits from natural herbal remedies is to drink them in the form of herbal teas. They are also commonly prepared in a tincture, which is a concentrated liquid extract. There are also plenty of different kinds of herbs that can be eaten fresh. Many herbs can also be used as compresses, creams, poultices, and salves. They are also commonly used in external applications in the form of essential oils. Today, many of these herbs are also becoming available in herbal capsules or tablets.
Most of these medicinal herbs are used to treat specific conditions, boost overall health, or as a complementary treatment. For example, some of them can also be used to reduce the side effects of some prescription drugs. However, you must ensure that herbs used in this manner will not interact negatively with your prescription drugs. Ask your doctor to make sure.
Natural herbal remedies can be very effective for many of the mild symptoms that you experience on a daily basis. There are some powerful herbs that can also be used to treat chronic conditions as well. These chronic conditions include diabetes, arthritis, memory problems and cardiovascular disease. You should still note that just because herbs are natural, it does not necessarily mean that they are safe. Hence, you would need to get to know about the herb that you are using. Do always check back with your health care provider when in doubt or if you intend to use them to treat a specific ailment that you are having.

Alternative Asthma Treatment That Can Save Lifes Of Asthma Sufferers And Let Them Keep Their Cat
Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009
Eleven people a day die from asthma attacks in the United States.
You don’t have to be one of them.
Susan Millar, a few years ago, was traveling in South America with Stan Grist, an adventurer, explorer, and renowned prospector. In a small Ecuadorian jungle village, high in the Andes, Stan suddenly developed a severe case of bronchial asthma.
He almost died.
In the Ecuadorian Andes, far from medical help, the severe onset of asthma brought Stan’s career to a wheezing end. The couple returned to Quito to consult a specialist who prescribed the usual drugs and inhalers designed by the drug cartel for asthma sufferers. In the high, thin air of Quito the drugs didn’t work. With Stan’s career over, or so it seemed, they moved to Miami, Florida, so Stan could breath and get treatment.
What caused Stan’s sudden onset of asthma? No one knows for sure. In the Andes of South America air pollutants, chemicals and dust weren’t a likely cause. Nor was animal dander that causes people to be allergic to cats. Neither was exercise since Stan was in excellent physical condition. The most likely cause of Stan’s severe asthma attack were mold spores he possibly breathed into his lungs during one of many excursions into caves he explored frequently.
Due to the severity of Stan’s asthma he was advised by his doctors to give up his adventurous life. To Stan, and Susan, that was not acceptable. So, Susan, not a doctor or health practitioner, began an extensive research project into various asthma treatments.
She started at the beginning.
What causes asthma?
Asthma is an acute, allergic inflammation of the lungs. An attack can be triggered by several causes. Air pollutants, molds, animal dander, foods, exercise, chemicals and dust. Sometimes even a change in the temperature can cause an attack. Asthma is also frequently caused by emotional or psychosomatic reasons.
These triggers in turn produce allergens which are then absorbed into the blood stream. Once in the blood stream the allergens cause the white blood cells to produce the antibody lgE. These lgE molecules then combine with mast cells lining the blood vessels or with basophils which are a type of white blood cell.
Mast cells and basophils contain histamine and serotonin. The antibody lgE causes the mast cells and basophils to leak the histamine and serotonin into the blood stream causing the symptoms of allergies and asthma which are so well known to asthma sufferers.
After exhaustive research into scores of asthma treatment drugs, delving into alternative health treatments, Susan, like Stan had in Ecuador, struck gold.
She discovered a unique supplement that works to eliminate asthma by addressing the cause of asthma instead of simply treating the symptoms.
Derived from a variety of vegetables and fruit enzymes, the supplements, in the proper amounts and combination, act to support and bolster the mast cells and basophils which strengthen the cell walls thereby preventing them from spilling histamine and serotonin into the bloodstream.
Stan took the supplements and within days his asthma was gone. He hasn’t used the dangerous, ineffective drugs prescribed by his doctors since he began the supplements. Needless to say, he resumed his adventurous life in South America.
Stan isn’t the only one taking the supplements. Thousands of people, from all walks of life, from young to old, all around the world, take them every day.
A nurse in Sacramento, CA. said, “…I started the asthma treatment that evening and I took 2 loading doses before I went to bed and woke up the next morning with energy…thank you again for the information that practically saved my life…”.
In West Chicago, Illinois, a doctor uses the supplements. She reported, “… I would get severe asthma attacks ..they would pump me full of prednisone….I’ve not had to take even 10 mg of prednisone since starting this…”.
And in Arizona a woman reports “… I have been on Flonase, Albuterol, Prednisone and recently Pulmicort and getting worse all the time. Within twenty minutes of taking my first dose (of supplements) my lungs were clear, my nose stopped dripping…”.
Obviously, the supplements are nothing to sneeze at.
If the treatment is so effective why doesn’t your doctor or the drug companies tell you about it?
We all know the answer, don’t we? Money.
The supplements are natural and can’t be trademarked, owned, or controlled by the drug companies. In short, if the drug companies released the information, they would lose hundreds of millions of dollars a year in lost sales. Instead, they want you buying their expensive drugs with dangerous side effects they don’t tell you about. Except in real fine print.
The supplements are available in local health and food stores for $10 to $25 depending on the brand. Depending on the severity of your asthma you may need one or two bottles a month. Most people only take the supplements when they have an onset of symptoms which reduces the cost monthly cost.
What else can you do to help alleviate asthma?
Drink plenty of water. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
Asthmatics need more salt to break up the mucus. Add a pinch of sea salt in every other glass of water you drink.
Take a magnesium supplement. Magnesium relaxes the airway’s smooth muscles, dilutes the bronchioles in the lungs, reduces histamine release into the blood stream, and stabilizes the mast cells.
One third of asthma attacks are triggered by drinking wine. One tenth are caused by beer drinking. Five percent are caused by drinking hard liquor.
Why does wine and beer contribute to asthma attacks?
The link between asthma and candida or yeast infection is well documented. Wine is fermented and contains natural yeast. Wine also contains minute traces of pesticides used in growing the grapes. And, one of the ingredients of beer is yeast.
What does that mean to you?
Simple. If you drink stop drinking beer and wine. Instead, drink scotch.
What are the advantages of this alternative supplemental treatment?
You’ll save money. The supplements cost a fraction of what you pay for your asthma medicine. And, you buy them in your local health food store without a doctor’s prescription instead of at the expensive drug store down the street.
There are no dangerous side affects with the natural supplements like there are with asthma drugs. Studies, testimonials, and anecdotal evidence attests to the effectiveness of this natural supplemental treatment.
Where do you find out more about this life saving treatment? How do you get complete information, read the studies, and discover what exactly to take?
If you want more information check the author’s bio.
Then, stop wheezing and keep the cat.
Or buy one.
Better yet, adopt.

How Healthy Food And Lifestyle Can Effect Our Skin
Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009
We all want to be healthy, wealthy and beautiful. But when it comes to talking about beauty, some people know a lot about skin care, while others haven’t a clue what our skin is designed for.
When we reach the age that we begin to see fine lines and wrinkles, we start to look for solutions. I may not be a doctor, but I studied anatomy and physiology while at university and I know that our skin deserves all the nutrition we can give it. If anything, we have to feed our skin natural, healthy, raw food instead of processed food if we expect it to stand up to wind and sun.
The skin normally renews its cells every 28 days. We can talk all day long about lotions and creams, but applying a cream with nutrients to the surface of our skin does not ensure that those nutrients actually penetrate into our skin cells.
I want to share a personal story with you. A couple of years ago my 30-year-old son fell ill and I was shocked by the doctors’ diagnoses. One said that his intestines were abnormally long and the other said he had warm tape! I couldn’t believe it.
Neither could my son. Rejecting what the doctors had said, he decided to clean his body. At first, he visited doctors who specialized in natural medicine. They put him on a diet, but all that did was cause him to lose a lot of weight. He then turned to reading about alternative medicine, followed their recipes and instructions, and cleaned his liver. As a result, he was able to get rid of 30 stones from his liver.
When I visited my son in Europe recently, I was amazed at how he looked so radiant and healthy, his skin practically glowing. He told me that he ate five times a day, eating nothing but natural, balanced food and forgoing anything that had added salt or sugar, as well as no smoked foods or white bread, and drank fresh juice every day.
His story typifies how a clean body and good nutrients can affect our skin. By ensuring that our body has the nutrients it needs, and by including a few key herbs, oils and other remedies in our regular routine, we can not only quickly improve the quality of our skin, but we can also look good as well as feel young and healthy. Essential fatty acids are vital to our skin. Good-quality oils help to keep skin lubricated and healthy overall, since what happens inside your body determines the quality of your skin.
While the main goal is to detoxify our bodies for our own good health and a healthy skin, it is also important to create good eating habits for our children. A child is a mirror of our own habits, and by giving our babies some bites of cake, pizza or overcooked food rather than fruits and vegetables when they start to eat real food, we are creating some very bad habits for them. The answer, of course, is education.
Processing removes essential nutrients from foods, may also destroy nutrients or change them into toxic substances. We need to teach our kids to eat those foods that are rich in antioxidants, such as blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and plums. A wide variety of different foods is always recommended for a healthy balanced diet so that the body receives the vast complement of nutrients it needs for good health. Replace processed foods with fresh ones, don’t eat junk food, don’t drink soft drinks, stay away from sugar, and you’ll be well on your way looking younger.
Simply eat a well-balanced and varied diet that includes more then 25 ingredients per day and have a healthy lifestyle. Believe me, it will help to keep your skin in good condition. Also learn how to read product labels to understand better what is healthy for our skin and what is not.

Music For Healing, Relaxation, and Wellness
Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009
From a powerful national anthem to church hymns and classical masterpieces, music has always been able to evoke emotion, affect your mood, and influence the brain and body. Scientific studies throughout the years have proven how beneficial music can be both emotionally and physically. However certain types of music are better suited for healing than others. For example, you may find that while you truly enjoy rock music, this music may not be the most ideal music for your own emotional or physical needs.
Generally speaking, you want to search for music which is soft, soothing, and geared toward relaxation or meditation. Many classical music recordings have these qualities as do New Age compositions. You can even acquire music which is specially geared toward meditation, yoga, and other wellness programs. I highly recommend the music of Daniel Kobialka for all of your wellness and meditation needs. Mr. Kobialka’s focus is the rejuvenative power of music. He has led didactic and interactive workshops and seminars, traveled the world bringing his violin virtuosity to hospitals from Beijing, China to Plainville Ohio, and recorded music for meditation and guidance with alternative healing pioneers including Joan Boreysenko and Bernie Siegel. “If you are seeking healing, inspiration or spiritual fulfillment, you will discover in Kobialka the transformative power of music,” Larry Dossey, M.D.
Music has always been loved and embraced by the public, from catchy jingles that influence their purchases to cherished childhood songs that bring back a nostalgia for friendlier times. As such, it is no surprise that science, as well as medicine, have turned their attention to the therapeutic powers of music.
“Music, the undefined sounds of universal language,” says Daniel Kobialka, “has the remarkable ability of speaking to each of us in a very personal and profound manner.”
The many uses of music in therapeutic situations vary largely and may include, but are not limited to, motor skills, social/interpersonal development, cognitive development, self-awareness, and spiritual enhancement.
The idea of music as a tool for healing dates back to the beginnings of history, and some of the earliest notable mentions in Western history are found in the writings of ancient Greek philosophers.
Robert Burton wrote in the 16th century in his classic work, The Anatomy of Melancholy, that music and dance were critical in treating mental illness, especially melancholia (depression).
Using music and sound for healing is not yet a mainstream practice, however many groups have already begun to implement music therapy to their advantage. For example, some schools have initiated programs including music to benefit their student’s learning abilities. They have begun to hire therapists or other specialists who use music to strengthen nonmusical areas such as communication, physical coordination, teamwork, or even math.
If this article still hasn’t convinced you of the value of music for healing, consider the case of Dr. Michael J. Crawford and his colleagues, who in November 2006, again found that music therapy helped the outcomes of Schizophrenic patients.
His study showed conclusive evidence of the value of music in healing therapies. His November 2006 study included a total of 115 patients. Of these 115 patients, 81 of these were were subjected to various music therapies. Multiple methods of analysis demonstrated a trend towards improved symptom scores among those which were subjected to healing music therapy, especially in the area of reducing symptoms of schizophrenia. They further concluded that the effects as well as cost-effectiveness of music therapy for acute psychosis should be further investigated in further trials.
As you can see, there is a strong case for the value of music in everyday wellness as well as for your health and even to assist in the care of specific ailments. You can use music as a wellness method in your own home in a variety of ways, such as setting aside 15 minutes when you wake up in the morning and before bed at night to listen to relaxing music and calm your mind. You may also wish to listen to healing music on an mp3 player or CD player while you work during the day, if it is possible in your workplace to do so, or if you work from home. You can also play soothing, healing music for your pets or to even calm down and relax a baby!
Music can be used in such a large variety of ways for healing both our bodies and minds that you simply can’t go wrong by listening to this type of music! Even if your normal playlist includes rock, country, or even rap, you too can appreciate the benefits given by listening to relaxation music. There are such a large variety of styles, instruments, and cultural influences available in healing music that you can usually find something to suit everyone. So give music healing a try and start feeling the benefits today!
