Why are people bashing naturopathy? What is so wrong with wanting to heal naturally instead of with drugs?

A lot of people myself included are sick of being sick from the drugs that doctors prescribe that make us sicker than an illness ever could. So I want to know why so many people are against naturopathy?
I guess it’s human nature for people to bash things that they are ignorant about. It seems the less they know, the louder they bash. For unknown reasons, because a Doctor tells them to, they put unnecessary chemicals into their bodies and don’t even ask questions….The Doctor said so. Well, certain medications are indeed necessary for some illnesses and injuries, but it really blows my mind that people just blindly trust what the Doctor tells them. Yet Doctors, Herbalists, Nutritionists and Pharmacists are called Quacks if they prescribe medically validated alternative medicine.
I think one of the main problems is self-diagnosis, or misdiagnosis when it comes to herbal treatments. People can and do do a lot of damage to themselves if they have not done their homework. But on the flip side of that coin, I have lost 2 family members due to misdiagnosis from the medical profession, and one who is going down now due to over medicating for diabetes and it’s related symptoms.
I will continue with alternative medicine as I have done my homework and have seen results not possible with pharmaceuticals.

Well i got play a lot by guys, but im already over with all them. But now i have fall in love with this one guy and now were dating about 4 month now and i know that he really love me and he doesn’t want me to cry anymore. And this one night i talk to him and we were kind of argue and i talk him that i can’t be well anymore and when he hear what i told him and he was crying on the phone that he don’t want this to happen to me and i told him that i well be fine and go to sleep and he won’t because he is worries about me so we were on the phone until 6 AM in the morning and i told him to go to sleep and i well be fine and i will go check it out what wrong with me and he went to sleep. So the next day i went to this one hmong chinese lady at st. paul and my mom told her to give me to shout on my neck and after i got done taking shout on my neck and my mom ask her to check my health and she did and she told me that my heart beat slow that why i can’t breath well like usually and my stomach hurt and my back hurt and my neck hurt and i depress a lot and she give me some medicine so that my neck well not hurt anymore. And when we get home my mom told me to start eating the medicine to get better. After some few week i got very very depress and i didn’t care to take any of my medicine and my mom know that i didn’t take my medicine and she yell at me why i’m not taking my medicine and aren’t you scare about your sickness and i told her that why would i be scare of my sickness and after she say that i have a feeling what kind of sickness i have in my body.
I have read your question very carefully and I felt the frustration of not being able to ask you a few probing questions before answering. However, I would at the very least like to email you a few things to consider that will at least offer a few things to consider and may offer additional aspect for your consideration…with your permission first!

Why doen’t the FDA redulate herbal remedies?

I am doing an Independent research project for my chemistry class on the chemical composition of herbal remedies and I needed a conflict/ view point and I noticed that the FDA doesn’t regulate herbal remedies. Why?
I really wanted to answer this question but Tim j gave a great answer.
