Notable Thoughts on Positive Living
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
I went online — and what do I see? A news report scrolled
across my screen: “Murder by Mother’s Milk,” compliments
of the Associated Press. I try to keep up with the news as it
informs me of my environment, the world around me and society in
general. But when I look at a television or monitor screen and
read horrific reports such as this one, I have to wonder what
this world is coming to.
Purportedly, a 31-year old woman (who, by the way has 5
children) was an apparent methamphetamine addict and was
breastfeeding her 3-month old son. According to the report, the
fatal drug passed through the mother’s breastmilk and caused the
death of her tiny infant. Although the child can no longer be
brought back to life, the mother was indicted and charged with
second-degree murder. She could receive up to life imprisonment.
So, are you angry yet? What type of world are we living in when
supposed, responsible parents are so high on drugs that they
“accidentally” poison their children with methamphetamine?
Then I hear reports of a bride-to-be being buried today because
of radical fundamentalists who get kicks out of bombing innocent
people.
Of course, the epitome of news reports is to make our modern,
“civilized” public aware of current events, people, places and
things. But does it really? If awareness is being raised to the
potpourri of countless, violent reports then what has
transpired? Yes — more violence.
Like a flashing billboard of red lights, all the warning signs
come barreling into our faces. However, how often are these
ominous “news stories” going to be taken to heart? We sit back,
view news reports, eat our dinners, do our chores, sit back down
and watch a movie. No more talk about the 3-month old who was
murdered. No more talk about the innocent young bride being
bombed. Suddenly, the rose-colored glasses get put across our
eyes and we’ve become desensitized to all the negative in our
world.
We, as a people, coexist with modern neandrathal-like maniacs
who care of nothing but self-satisfaction and egotistically
charged, radical perspectives of life. A matter of fact, these
nomenclatural fiends of society seem to marvel at their newfound
notoriety by playing to society’s camera view.
“I was abused as a child…” “I didn’t have a Nintendo…”
“My religion is better than your religion…” “I couldn’t help
myself because nobody cared enough about me…” I’ve heard
just about enough excuses for irresponsible, childish and
violent behavior. It’s about time society take note of these
news reports and start proacting.
People, in general, have been brainwashed by alleged leaders of
independent cultures, schools, and even parents to think that
whatever they do will ultimately be an excuse to do as they
please. I’m here to tell you that life is not a bowl of peaches
and cream. Life is not easy. Nothing gets handed to people on a
silver platter without hard work, dedication and willpower.
If individuals want positive things to happen in their lives,
they have to reinforce positive behavior and attitude. I am sick
and tired of hearing people say the reason they act the way they
do is because they had a hard life. Get over it. Jesus had a
hard life and look where He is today.
I look at people like Susan Smith. This woman takes the cake;
and is the poster child for what is wrong with society. Here is
a young woman who one day decides that she would intentionally
trade her children’s lives in on a man who didn’t even want her.
She idly stood by and watched her helpless tots drown in a murky
lake, then phoned police to say a “black man” had stolen her
vehicle and abducted her boys. Sickening. “…but she was
sexually abused as child…” screamed her defense attorneys.
Amazing what antics defense attorneys can squeeze out in a
courtroom. Yet it gets better. Now — if you’d like, you can
personally contact Ms. Smith and have a long-distance
relationship over the Internet with her.
So, here are a few pointers to positivie living that I’ve come
up with — in my own opinion, of course:
- If you’ve had a terrible life and can’t deal with it –
get counseling for God’s sakes. You are your own person and need
to take control of your actions by being in charge. - If
you think your religion is better than the next persons, don’t
bomb innocent communities. This is not a positive way to prove
your point. - If you don’t use drugs, don’t start using
them. If you do use drugs, it’s time for you to check into a
clinic and get rehabilitated. Many are free and provide
financial assistance to those who cannot afford to go to
one. - If you decide that you no longer wish to raise
your children, please contact social services and get some help.
You’ve brought life into this world and that life is your
responsibility. Period. - If everything in life has gone
wrong and you’re sitting there wondering if life is worth
living, think of this: somewhere in the world — children are
literally starving to death; somewhere in this world, a person
is dying from some god-awful disease; somewhere in this world,
people don’t have luxuries like clean, running water and a roof
over their heads; somewhere in this world, there is another
person going through the same thing you are
experiencing.
Positivity is the key to all good things. Always focus your
intentions on the overall good of humanity. Promote peace and
live peacefully. Accentuate the positive, as positive energy
attracts positive energy. Leave this world a better place than
in which you came. In closing, I leave you with a quote from an
incredible human being — Mohandas Gandhi wrote, “Nonviolence
is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier
than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the
ingenuity of man.”

Natural Home Remedies for High Blood Pressure
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
Causes and Symptoms: High blood pressure, or hypertension to give it its proper medical name, is the most common form of high blood pressure. Its causes include kidney disease, disorders, of the endocrine glands and malfunctioning or disorders of the arteries. A congenital abnormality of the aorta is one of the most serious forms of hypertension. Its chief symptoms are headache, usually in the back of the head, ringing in the ears, giddiness. Headache is worst at the time of waking in the morning and it has a tendency to wear off during the day.
While hypertension runs its natural course, it usually causes death in the ends as a result of heart failure. A proportion of the victims dies of kidney failure and some of a stroke. The earlier the onset of hypertension, the proper is the life expectancy. A large number of deaths supposed to have occurred from heart disease were really the handiwork of hypertension left uncontrolled.
Hypertension can be either functional or organic: the latter is the case when the fatty substance accumulates in the smaller arteries carrying blood to the heart. The openings being smaller, the heart has to best faster and exercise more pressure to supply the blood to the various organs. Hence the higher blood pressure.
The Real Culprit: Hypertension is a disease of the modern civilization. Its incidence has increased during the last 50 years. The fast pace of life, the mental and physical pressures under which man in the present industrial and metropolitan environment works, gives rise to psychological tensions. Hypertension makes its victim a less than useful member of society. He cannot do any serious work, feels tired and out of sorts all the time. Never does he have a feeling of freshness even if he has full sleep. Difficulty in breathing may be experienced by him and dyspepsia is his constant companion.
Mental strain and an artificial way of life is the real culprit. Less physical work, a sedentary life, too much of intoxicants, tea, coffee, refined foods, destroy the natural pace of life. The expulsion of waste and poisonous matter from the body is hampered and the arteries and the veins become slack.
Modern medicine believers that a healthy person should have a systolic pressure (at the best of the heart) of 100 mm plus age and diastolic pressure (between) the beats of the heart) should be 80 mm plus age. The blood pressure is accurately measured by an instrument known as sphygmomanometer. The pressure, if it is abnormally high, is accompanied by disease of the arteries. The blood pressure normally increases with the advance of age, due to the hardening of the arteries. But it is an indication of ill health; if one is healthy, the normal systolic blood pressure should range between 120 to 140 mm of Hg. And diastolic should range between 70 to 80 mm of Hg. Whatsoever the age is after 20 years.
Kidney diseases, hardening of the arteries and severe constipation leading to absorption of morbid humours through the gut lead to high blood pressure. Smoking is another addiction, which leads to hypertension. Smoke a cigare3tte and then have your blood pressure, taken: it will be some points more than the normal.
Treatment: Drugs prescribed by traditional Physicians may temporarily reduce blood pressure, but they are harmful in the final analysis. The best way to reduce is to remove the real cause. High pressure of blood is only a symptom of the poisonous matter, which causes it and the naturopathic way to dealing with it is to remove the poisons from the system. Again, the ingestion of fresh fruits and vegetables instead of a traditional diet is helpful in ridding the body of the poisons, which cause high blood pressure. A hypertension patient, if he is not too weak, should start the process of healing by living on fruit and vegetables for at least a week. The best course would be to take only fruits at five hourly intervals only thrice in the day. Breakfast should consist of oranges, lunch of guava and dinner of tomatoes, or apples. Fruits like oranges, apples, pears, mangoes, guava, pineapples, raspberry, and muskmelon are the best diet in such cases. Bananas and jackfruits should be avoided. After a week of ‘fruits only” diet, milk should be added. Milk should preferably be of cow or goat and should be fresh. It should be boiled only once. After two weeks, the patient can be permitted cereal in his food. The best would be porridge.
Vegetables are also good for a patient of high blood pressure. A salt free diet is the best; if you must take it, take it 25% of the normal quantity. Vegetables should preferably be raw. If they are cooked, cook them with the rind on and do not let their natural juices burn in the process of cooking vegetables like cucumber, carrot, tomatoes, onion, radishes, cabbage and spinach are best taken in their raw form. They may be cut into small pieces and sprinkled with a little bit of salt and the juice of a lemon added to them in order to make them more palatable. The second step is to deal with a constipated bowel. During the period that fruits are the mainstay of the patient, he should take a warm water enema every day in order to clear his bowels.
If the patient is too sick to take exercise, let him massage his body; otherwise he should take exercise. Massage should be away from heart and towards the limbs and their extremities.
As the blood pressure shows signs of abating, take more exercise. Avoid too much straining of the heart. Breathe deeply while you are walking or taking exercise.
Rub your body with a rough towel vigorously for five to seven minutes after you have taken your bath. Avoid too cold water; add a little warm water to bring it to body temperature. If you have the patience, rub your body, instead of using a towel use your palms.
Early to bed is another cardinal principle, which a person suffering from hypertension must follow. He should get eight hours of restful sleep. Those who find it difficult to sleep can keep their feet in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash them with cold water.
The patient must avoid over-straining, worries, tension, anger and haste. He must try to be cheerful. The natural treatment may take some time, but do not lose patience because it is the safest and the best way to get rid of these diseases.

The Natural Way to Heal Cancer
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
From the desk of Dr Laurence Magne, author of Cancer Free For Life
Is it possible to control and influence rate at which injuries, wounds and even cancer heal? That’s the question a group of researchers from the Ohio State University asked when they decided to observe wound healing rates in a group of exercising older adults in comparison to that of a non-exercising control group.
This three-month study looked at the effects of exercise on wound healing among healthy older adults. All participants had not exercised regularly for six months, so the 28 participants who were encouraged to exercise were given one month to acclimatize to a new exercise program that included 30 minutes of pedaling on a stationary bike, 15 minutes jogging or brisk walking on a treadmill, and 15 minutes of strength training. Fifteen participants acted as controls by not changing their level of physical activity. All then underwent a small puncture wound about half a centimeter across and deep on the back of the upper arm. Individual wounds were measured three times a week until fully healed. Regular exercisers took only 29 days to heal, while non-exercisers took up to 10 days longer to recover. From these results, researchers have speculated that exercise may speed wound healing by enhancing neuron-endocrine function, meaning that stronger individuals have a higher body function that helps the body heal wounds and cancer faster.
The point of this study is not that exercise is important. It is now acknowledged as an important factor in maintaining health. The main point is that even moderate exercise can improve the time to recover in wound and cancer healing.
In the case of a cancer diagnostic, the body and its recovery system: the immune system, are stressed by the attack of the disease on the body. Even a moderate level of exercise can improve your condition. Your breathing rate increases, bringing more oxygen to your cells. Your heart rate increases as well, pumping and circulating that oxygen to all parts of the body.
The immune system contains some of the fastest replicating cells in the human body. You must remember that self healing does occur for people with cancer. It doesn’t yet happen as often or as fast as it does with the cold or with the flu, but it can. The main strategy to improving the self-healing capacity of the body is obvious: increase the strength of the immune system. Strengthening the immune system is probably the most significant thing you can do for yourself to heal cancer and wounds quicker, and as a happy side-effect, many other life improvements come along with an improved immune system.
One very simple improvement is a modification in breathing. Far too often, we take quick and shallow breaths. This can lead to a higher blood pressure, as it constricts the blood vessels. That constriction slows our circulation, which also reduce the speed with which our immune system can respond to a problem.
Everything going on in your body is dependant upon a steady and regular circulation of blood. Anything that interferes with that circulation is unhealthy and needs to be resolved immediately. It can slow down healing and promote cancer.
The solution to this problem is really rather simple: commit five minutes, three times a day, to breathe deeply. You can do this while working, reading, driving, etc. You’ll probably find it most beneficial if you start your day and end your day with one of these five minute breathing exercises. To learn more ways to remain cancer-free, read Cancer Free For Life. Dr Magne has written in it the results of extensive studies and research that demonstrate the cancer can be healed without chemotherapy or surgery.
In close conjunction with the concept of deeper and more thorough breathing is the practice of relaxation with breathing exercises. This focuses solely on the action of breathing while you do it. Obviously, then, this requires that you not be driving or reading a book. Instead you simply find a comfortable place to sit, put yourself into the most comfortable sitting posture, and focus on your breathing.
To really focus on breathing during this time, you should focus your attention on your belly, as if you have a balloon in your stomach. Inhale, slowly, to fill the balloon and focus on the expansion happening in your stomach area. Hold the breath for a comfortable amount of time and exhale slowly, depleting the balloon in your stomach.
You’ll probably find out almost immediately that you feel a lot better…even if you didn’t realize you could! In the process, you are also strengthening your immune system, providing it with the necessary support to speed healing of cancer and wounds.
Cancer treatments can cause serious damage to the immune system. This damage opens you up to a wide-range of infections and diseases. If you are diagnosed with cancer, it’s important that you listen to what your physician tells you with an open mind. Don’t operate under the assumption that your doctor will know everything there is to know. Research all your other options, learn everything you can and take control of your own recovery. Your doctor doesn’t have the time to get to know you. Often the prognostic you receive is only the result of statistics and probabilities, but doesn’t take into account your own ability to recover and your will to live.
Even moderate exercise and deep breathing can save your life from cancer by speeding up your healing.

How Our Ancestors Introduced Herbal Remedies to the Modern World
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
Without herbal medicine, modern medicine would not be in the advanced stage that it is. Our species has relied on plants for thousands of years – not only for nutrition, but to ease ailments that develop within our minds and bodies.
The parts of an herb have helped us survive disease and pestilence and contributed to our survival for as long as humans have existed. Over time, we have learned which herbs and parts of a plant provide value to our lives and which have the potential to cause damage.
We know that our ancestors used herbal remedies because archeologists have unearthed evidence that they used plant-based treatments all over the world. What’s intriguing is that cultures on a global scale, which had no known contact with one another, all used herbal remedies in much the same way – testing and tracking what worked and what didn’t in the herbal world of remedies.
As time proved some assumptions correct, our ancestors passed the teachings about herbal treatments down through familial lineage. They also created texts to help others study and learn about the techniques used in taking a natural approach to healing.
It was from our ancestral roots that modern-day pharmaceutical companies derived their synthetic drugs today. They work to try to recreate the natural effects herbal treatments deliver to the human body, sometimes succeeding and often failing. Aspiring, for example, was created as a replica of the substance found in willow bark that provides a natural pain reliever.
Botanical treatments do not provide the same side effects that synthetic drugs do, which accounts for the reason why many modern-day consumers are steering away from man-made compounds and concentrating on the return to their roots of herbal remedies and natural treatments. When our ancestors began cultivating plants for their own use, they included herbal gardens that provided immediate access to particular plants they found soothing for their ailments, including aloe, peppermint, mustard, and more.
As the cultures began to merge throughout the years and travelers started exploring the world, ideas were exchanged and treatments one culture found useful were now in the hands of another culture who previously didn’t have access to such findings or even the plants themselves, before trade.
Herbs were so important to our ancestors that they became a part of religious rituals and were highly valued. Today, not only do consumers see the significance in promoting herbal treatments, but doctors are aligning with this way of thinking as well.

Holistic Medicine For Treatment Of Arthritis
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
Holistic medicine for treatment of arthritis is becoming more and more popular.
Arthritis is a disease which causes inflammation of the joints. If left untreated joint damage, joint limitations and deformities can occur.
Holistic medicine for treatment of arthritis offers arthritis suffers lasting relief from pain and inflammation. The holistic medicine approach states that arthritis is a disease that results from multiple causes. Contributing to all forms of arthritis is a number of underlying imbalances with physical, mental and environmental factors.
Holistic medicine believes that the cause of arthritis develops from a combination of several causes. It is important to understand the factors that went into creating arthritis in each person to properly treat the disease.
Holistic medicine employs a battery of diagnostic tools such as physical examination, dietary assessment, emotional evaluation, and test for immune/digestive function to help build an individual picture of the patient’s condition. Holistic medicine physicians take the time to find the root cause of arthritis and the patient is actively involved with their treatment.
Holistic medicine for the treatment of arthritis draws upon a wide range of therapies to help treat and possibly prevent arthritis.
The primary factors to this treatment is through Chinese herbal medicine, proper diet and nutrition, stress reduction, detoxification and the repair of nerves and muscles with the use of acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage and exercise.
The belief of the Chinese medicine is that disease occurs when obstructions impede the flow of energy to the organs. Chinese herbs are used to restore energy and function to the system so that balance and health can be achieved. With holistic medicine it is also believed that diet and nutrition has a significant impact on pain and inflammation.
A vegetarian diet is believed to greatly reduce arthritis symptoms. Herbs, minerals, vitamins and other natural supplements can provide effective relief without the side effects of conventional drugs. Mind and body techniques such as meditation can also help to reduce stress. The removal of toxins in the body has also shown to be remarkably therapeutic for arthritis patients.
Holistic medicine for treatment of arthritis helps to restore health to the whole patient, rather than simply providing superficial symptom relief. With holistic medicine the tests to detect any imbalance will focus on a physical and emotional evaluation, dietary assessment, immune response, and digestive and detoxification function.

Mental Health And Vitamin Supplements: How These Work Together For An Overall Healthy You
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
The positive effects of the use of discount vitamins are more prevalent today than in the past. It is estimated that there are approximately 44.3 million people in the United States with a diagnosable mental disorder. These can range from depression, bipolar disorder, and premenstrual syndrome, to schizophrenia and anxiety disorders. In light of those tough statistics, mental health and medical professionals know that keeping the body and physical wellbeing healthy, can actually decrease the symptoms related to most mental illnesses.
The most important step of all is to first see a doctor or mental health specialist, either to be tested and diagnosed or to discuss with them the alternative discount vitamins that are best for your situation. While many of the disorders are rather different from one another, the types of vitamins used to treat them are fairly common.
* Depression – Depression can be a side effect to some other drugs, including oral contraceptives. Your doctor or specialist may want to perform a test on what are called the homocysteine levels in order to check for folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies. If diagnosed with depression, there are several choices in discount vitamins and supplements including folate, vitamin B12, amino acid supplements – specifically the amino acid L-tryptophan, and vitamin B6. Another popular treatment with those who prefer natural medicines is the use of ginkgo biloba. Ginkgo is also used to treat asthma, hypertension, Alzheimer’s disease and more.
* Bipolar Disorder – Bipolar Disorder, closely associated with Seasonal Affective Disorder, is naturally treated with some of the same vitamins as depression and anxiety. Most commonly used are a mixture of vitamin B1, vitamin B6, zinc, vitamin B2 and vitamin B complex. Studies have also shown that these same vitamins in addition to biotin, boron, and manganese and fish oil can be used to treat Bipolar Disorder II.
* Anxiety – As one of the most common forms of mental illness, anxiety at certain levels can also cause fatigue, psychological and physical stress, excessive alcohol consumption and even anorexia and insomnia. Anxiety studies have also shown a links to folic acid deficiency. Many treatments include vitamin B12 and folic acid. In recent years, St. John’s Wort has become a popular alternative due the ingredients hypericin and pseudohypericin, which has also shown to be helpful in ceasing anxiety.
* Premenstrual Syndrome (also know as PMS) – For women, this is one of the most common types of disorders. In recent studies, it has been shown that most women do not take the Recommended Daily Allowance for magnesium, which is now believed to be one of the causes for premenstrual syndrome. Magnesium is known for relating to mood changes, so it is one of the most common supplements used in treating PMS. Calcium and vitamin D are also good for premenstrual syndrome. Four servings of skim of low fat milk is a great way to get that extra calcium needed.
* Schizophrenia – Schizophrenia is a disabling and chronic brain disorder that affects approximately one percent of people in the world. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the active form of vitamin B6, is very important to the brain functioning normally. This supplement, along with folic acid, methylfolate, niacin, and vitamin C are some of the vitamin supplements used to treat schizophrenics.
Once there has been a determination of the vitamins that can be used in your specific case, purchasing quality vitamins at a discount price is the next step. These can be found anywhere from vitamin outlet stores, the Internet, magazine and on television through home shopping channels. The Internet, being the most convenient way to shop, offers consumers a world of opportunity in finding the best quality discount vitamins at the most reasonable price. The most desirable sites offer considerable information all the vitamins and herbs they sell, showing that they are committed to the overall health and well being of the customers. These sites break down each vitamin and provide an explanation of how it should be used, the dosage amount and size. In addition, some offer their customers health and wellness articles that can provide the most up-to-date information of discount vitamins, health issues, and alternative medicines, in turn giving each customer the ability to make the right decisions in the purchases they make.
Water is another extremely important part of keeping ourselves healthy. To many, water is just water and nothing else, but recently this has changed. Now called “Functional Water” by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), bottled water is now classified by its origin.
* Spring water – spring water derives from the point where ground water flows, sometimes flowing as a result of snow and ice melting or rain.
* Purified water – This water can come from any source (ocean, spring, well, etc.), but is then purified using a process called reverse osmosis.
* Mineral water – Mineral water contains minerals which can alter or change the taste of the water. This water is one of the most popular types purchased, and commercially offered in over 3000 brands.
* Distilled water – Distilled water is used in many ways, most commonly known for being used to clean car batteries. The water becomes distilled by boiling it and re-condensing the steam into a container, thus removing any contaminants.
* Vitamin added water – As one of the most popular types of water available today, this water is available with or without additional flavors, such as strawberry, lemon or grape. The vitamin water contains distilled water, electrolytes, and vitamins such as C, B6, B12 and E.
No matter the choice of discount vitamins chosen or the type of water that best fits your tastes, these simple and inexpensive additions to everyday life can truly change the way you think and feel. Dealing with a mental illness can be one of the hardest things in life, but there is help available. Making an appointment and speaking to your doctor or a health professional today can give anyone the ability to start living a life that is more fulfilling and happy.

How To Deal With Distractions At Work
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
If you find it hard to go on with your work in the office because of so many distractions that come your way, do not lose hope. The best advice to follow is not to totally avoid the distractions because that is next to impossible but to deal with them with iron willpower. For some, avoiding distractions may work.
Distractions at work are a part of a worker’s life and he should learn to accept that. He should develop the right skills of how to successfully deal with distractions like adaptability, flexibility and the ability to adjust in any given situation for his own good or he can go insane everyday of his life. There are a lot of distractions from every corner wherever he might be doing his work. In an office environment, these are the primary nuisances:
Poor lighting office space has no windows, the worker suffers from glares on his computer monitor and absence of natural lighting
Poor ventilation worker can smell smoke coming from cigarettes or chemical fumes that can be dangerous to ones health
Poor office space layout the inconvenience of reaching out for supplies and having a very cluttered workspace
Crowded workspace this is also a case of poor office layout where people are so close to each other that there is no more space for movements and the privacy of each one suffers
Noise if all of the above mentioned are a carbon copy of what your office environment is like then be prepared for a lot of unnecessary noises from phones, printers, scanners, photocopiers and over-the-desk, non-stop chatting of other workers.
The same is true if you are a freelancer and striking to earn a living without leaving the premises of your comfort zone your home. The nuisances can be a combination of these:
Loved ones such as children, spouses, relatives or even Housemates.
Household chores.
Internet, television and PlayStation.
Whether you are working in an office or at home does not really matter but how you manage and come-up with effective strategies to best deal with the distractions is the way to go to be successful in your work endeavors. Here are some effective lists of to-dos for office workers and freelancers.
I. Office setting
Make an inventory of all the noises around you and list down possible solutions to eliminate the distractions. This may include moving all the noisy machines near your desk, constructing physical barriers such as insulation covers and implementing rules on how to keep the noise low. The key to this arrangement is to notify the right person and offer the solutions you think might help.
If you experience poor ventilation, again the right way to do it is inform the person in charge but never do it without doing your homework. Ask around or conduct a survey of the staff with regards to how they feel about smoking and try to craft rules that would benefit most of the staff like a no smoking policy.
Arrange your office workspace in such a way that you do not block traffic in your area but establish partitions to reduce people hanging out on your desk while working and importantly put the supplies you frequently needed near you so that you do not have to stand up to get them.
To resolve poor lighting, it is best to notify the right person and ask if they can install fluorescents in your workspace. It may cost a little but good lighting heightens morale and productivity that it outweighs the costs of additional lights installed.
For long term benefits, request for some assertiveness training from your HR or training department. In this way you will be trained how to identify your needs and provide alternative solutions to help improve your workspace.
Disability Disorders break times and often continue working while eating at the same time on their desk. Take time to stand up, do some exercises, and eat some fruits and drink water to relieve your tensions and avoid irritation in the little nuisances that still may come your way.
II. Work-at-home setting
Run. If you cannot ignore the distractions at home, the best way to do is to run away from them and find your working spot in a public library, coffee shop or a partner’s house. These are good alternatives because of the coziness of the spaces and hi-speed internet connection you will get from these spots.
Hide. In the case of not wanting to leave home because most of the things you need are there, why not establish an office space at your house like in a spare room, part of your garage, laundry area or a big closet anywhere that you think is free from distractions.
Fight. This is something very hard to do with all the nuisances in your house. But if you implement rules and regulations for your loved ones this can smoothen the process of your work. Try to be as professional as you can be within your house during your work time so that they get the signal.
Like stress and other work-related traps, distractions are much a part of a working environment whether the set-up is in an office or at home. The ability to deal with them and work with your situation as a worker will test your stamina and determination to continue what you do best. Your adaptability, adjustability and flexibility will help you survive and shine in your work field.

How Can Distant Energy Healing Work?
Posted by admin on Aug 31, 2009
Distant energy healing, also known as remote healing and absent healing has been practiced by healers in the Far East for centuries. In recent modern times many modalities of distant healing are being recognized and practiced in the West. More and more people are turning to alternative healing therapies such as distant energy healing to enhance their health and well being.
Distant healing and energy healing therapy is being clinically studied in the West by places such as the California Pacific Medical Center in Northern California. China has done many scientific studies on the effectiveness of qigong distance healing by qigong healers.
One strict double blind study on almost 400 patients by cardiologist Robert Bryd determined that people who were prayed for had better outcomes than those who were not. The field of Quantum Physics may provide some answers why distance healing works.
In the early 1980’s a team of scientists at the University of Paris led by Alain Aspect made an incredible discovery that may be one of the most important discoveries in modern science. They found that under certain circumstances some subatomic particles were able to communicate instantaneously with each other no matter how far apart they were from each other. It didn’t matter if they were millions of miles apart.
In other research in 1997 Nicolas Gisan duplicated these findings and concluded that some particles appeared to be communicating at the mind boggling speed of 20,000 times the speed of light.
These conclusions may give clues as to why distance healing works. Well known quantum physicist David Bohm concluded the reasons why subatomic particles can stay in contact with each other despite vast distances is not because they are transmitting some unknown signal back and forth but because the separateness of the particles is an illusion. Bohm surmises that at a deeper level of reality the particles are not individual entities but are extensions of the same fundamental something and everything in the universe is infinitely interconnected.
Some scientists are now recognizing what mystics from many traditions have said for millennium, that we are all connected and that we are not separate.
Distant healing energy can get transferred over long distances because we are all connected. It doesn’t make any difference if the one transmitting the energy is in a different state or country than the recipient.
