Alternative healing for a kidney infection….?

Posted by admin on Jul 29, 2009

I’m taking antibiotics, ten day ones… im on day 3 but the pain is still extrememely there. Is there anything alternative I can do as well as taking the antibiotics, while I’m on them I can’t take multivitamins, cannot consume calcium or vitamin c and no pain killers. :( Please any suggestions would be great. I’m in so much pain and flushing my system out with lots of water just doesn’t seem to be cutting it!
Dr. T– thanks :) I really appreciate your good advice.

Three days on the right antibiotic should be enough for the pain to be subsiding significantly. I’d suggest another trip to the doc to discuss the matter… they may opt to do a urine culture and change up the antibiotic prescription.

Kidney infections are nothing to mess around with – can cause long term/permanent damage or even be fatal if not properly managed. In this case, I’d urge you NOT to take random advice from potentially (likely) unqualified, though well-meaning Y/A posters.

There are some natural options if you catch the infection very early, treat it aggressively and monitor it closely. And there are things that can be done with the help of a qualified ND to augment the treatment you’re getting from your MD, too… but step one really needs to be a return trip to your doc.

Get well soon! Cheers!

Where can I find investors for Exciting new restaurant startup….?

Posted by admin on Jul 29, 2009

Healthy, Natural and Organic Foods are in demand by the consumer, but current offerings are sorely lacking and quite limited. We are bringing healthy to the vernacular of the fast food industry.
We are currently looking for investors for an exciting new restaurant franchise.

These days in the restaurant business you have to be unusual, follow consumer trends, and stand out from the crowd to make your mark.

We believe Americans want to eat healthy, unfortunately current fast food “healthy” offerings are incredibly limited and, on the whole, not very healthy. People typically do not visit Burger and Chicken Joints for salads or health food. Supermarkets primarily carry health foods that fall under a few limited categories; (1) prepackaged meals that are typically flavorless, bland and whose small portion sizes are the prime reason they can be labeled low-calorie or low-fat. (2) Tofu, Seaweed, Sprouts and the like.
The concern and demand for safe food has never been higher. Americans are just plain tired about having to worry about the latest contamination, E Coli or tampering scandal of the week, and they have the right to be. This year has been especially troubling, with all of the outbreaks, contamination, cloning & genetic altering stories in the media. Where will it all end?

Our menu will feature the nutritional value and the origin of all of our foods and ingredients. Say goodbye to the days of mystery meats, poultry and/or fish. Consumers will know what they are being served and from where it arrived, period. And it will be food grown, raised and farmed by and for Americans…

We have done extensive research on the food industry for the last several years and we believe we have found the solution to the lack of health-conscious fast-food locations throughout the U.S.
The solution is Health Food Hut, the countries first Organic and All-Natural Fast Food Restaurant featuring all- wild Alaskan seafood, organic beef and chicken, organic salads and wraps, and much, much more.
By eliminating the distributor, and buying direct, we will be able to be price our meals within reach of the casual fast-food buyer. The organic industry is growing fast, and we are ready to do our part and strike while the iron is hot…

Health Food Hut will be unique in the industry. A fast-food establishment that offers healthy alternatives via in-store, carryout and drive-through purchases, comprehensive retail meat and produce offerings and even home delivery.
The time for action is now………

Health Food Hut has already negotiated with over 100 suppliers at below wholesale costs for quick and easy delivery of fresh, healthy product.

Envision, if you will, a Health Food Hut location next to a typical fast food franchise or casual dining restaurant. Same quick food service and the same methods of delivery. But wait, there’s a twist. What if the healthy alternative were comparatively priced? Which would you choose to feed your family? Would you choose (A), the greasy artery-clogging mystery meat burger and fries; or (B), the healthy all-salmon burger with toppings and healthy sides?
We believe, with all things being equal, the majority of Americans would choose the healthy alternative If available. Now it will be.

We will support American Fisherman and Ranchers for 90% or more of our foods.

Our theme “Come Back Home America" supports bringing home our troops, our dollars, and taking America back from foreign values and investors. We will espouse traditional values, American pride and support for our Senior Citizens, American Workers, Farmers, Ranchers and the Fisherman who have fed us for countless Generations.

Support America and invest wisely here at home……
Investments will be used to purchase and/or retrofit three existing or new Citrus County, FL restaurants and to create and build a distribution center initially employing 500 American workers at a living wage. Eventually, we hope to find our place atop new franchises in America by aggressively marketing our restaurants in exciting and interesting ways. Thousands in Citrus County are already looking forward to the opening of our first location in May, 2007. Choose wisely; don’t miss what could be your only chance to participate.

Please contact us for more info and to view our Business Plan and Collateral Marketing Materials. Come back home, America. Thank you,

Oh yeah will good luck .. really.

What people say and what they do are two different things. I’d watch out for anybusiness where you are asking people to change, they don’t like change.

herbal remedies to lower cholesterol?

Posted by admin on Jul 29, 2009

I recently got my blood work doen and everything was fine except my (ldl) bad cholesterol was 170. The doctor wants it around 130. Has anyone had luck with herbal remedies such Omega 3 or red yeast rice etc. I have already changed my diet lowering fat content and also eating more fiber.

So far I have heard, and my mother is taking it, is flax seed oil, in forms of pills, it is all natural. Flax seed is very helpful for a lot of other health problems, but it is also very very helpful in lowering your cholesterol. Do not take garlic pills or too much garlic as a supplement to lower it, since too much garlic can thinner your blood, which is not so good!!

Good luck!!

Would you trust a D.O. doctor or a Naturopathic Doctor over a regular MD?

Posted by admin on Jul 29, 2009

Im a pre-med student. I love medicine. HOWEVER, lately i’ve been exposed to the different options i have to go to graduate schools. Med schools are ultra competitive and super expensive. The material covered in other medical schools is identical (medicine is medicine) my question arises becasue if i begin my own practice will people be hesitant to come because they don’t know what a DO or Naturopathic Doctor is/are ( D.O. focus treatment of diseases and symptoms through whole body treatments, Naturopathic doctors, do not use drugs only natural herbs and things of that nature—this is where my interest is….but so is putting food on the table ) THANX

I would definitely trust a DO! I believe that the whole body approach is growing in fashion and soon more people will prefer DO’s to regular, old-fashioned MD’s. DO’s seem to be more in tune with overall healing, instead of focusing on a small part at a time. This fits in with the growing trend of people wanting a different approach to healthcare, because many of us are not satisfied with the traditional way.
Good luck in med school, whichever path you take! :)

Do you believe in natural healing?

Posted by admin on Jul 29, 2009

Do you believe in natural healing? Why or why not? Can you share your experience good or bad relating to natural healing methods? Thanks!

I do believe in natural healing. The body is self-healing in many ways…from how it closes cuts on its own to how it increases the absorption rate of certain vitamins/minerals if the body is experiencing a particular deficiency. Conventional medicine never truly worked for me. Here’s one experience. I used to use Midol to alleviate menstrual cramps, and sometimes it would help (within a half hour to an hour) and other times I would still be in pain.
Recently my mom bought be this tea for PMS symptoms, it contains a medley of herbs in it (I would tell you the name but I’m not home right now, if you wanna know just send me a message). I drank two mug-fuls when my cramps were extremely painful and within fifteen minutes they subsided. Gone, just like that. I don’t know if it was the tea or just mere coincidence that my cramps went down…But as of now I am convinced that it was the tea. I have yet to try it another time, and see if I get the same results.

I also took St. John’s Wort for social anxiety when I was taking a drama course. I don’t know if it was the herb itself that helped me overcome my fears of the stage or if it was just a placebo effect…but either way I performed feeling less anxious after that. If this supposedly natural healing herb had not worked, then it was my mind that did. Just because I thought the herb was intended to get rid of my anxiety, it DID. Your mind is very, very powerful in self-healing, as it is in self-harm. As you probably already know, people who are under mental stress have higher risks of developing certain illnesses (Your immune system weakens if you are mentally stressed, therefore making you more vulnerable to getting physically sick).

I believe that, if you keep a positive mindset and listen to your body’s needs, then you can enable your body to naturally heal itself.

Hope my answer helped.
